WHISTLEPIG JOINS THE AMERICAN WHISKEY ASSOCIATION; CEO ALEX ROBERTS JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

WhistlePig’s membership strengthens AWA’s representation of established American whiskey producers and supports the industry’s efforts to grow in markets around the world.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — October 27, 2026 — The American Whiskey Association (AWA) today announced that WhistlePig has joined the Association and that WhistlePig CEO Alex Roberts has joined AWA’s Board of Directors.

“As America’s original whiskey, rye is an essential part of our nation’s whiskey story, and one that deserves to be shared with consumers around the world,” said Roberts. “WhistlePig was built to push American rye forward. We’re pleased to join the American Whiskey Association and work with its members to make American whiskey the world’s whiskey.”

“WhistlePig brings a distinctive perspective and a strong commitment to American whiskey,” said Michael Bilello, president and CEO of the American Whiskey Association. “Alex understands the opportunity to grow this category at home and abroad. His leadership will strengthen our work to open markets and help American whiskey compete around the world.”

As an AWA member, WhistlePig will join producers and industry partners working to advance American whiskey through coordinated advocacy, market access efforts and industry engagement. The Association’s priorities include expanding fair opportunities for American whiskey in international markets, supporting the industry’s agricultural and manufacturing supply chain, and promoting American whiskey’s contributions to jobs and local economies.

“American whiskey is made in communities across the country and has a growing following around the world,” Bilello added. “Bringing more producers together strengthens our ability to represent the industry and pursue shared goals. We have global growth aspirations.”
